  2. Vintage Love!

    April 12, 2013 by lesturman

So I am totally digging the vintage swimsuit look. I just love the high wasted bottoms and the more coverage tops, I’m just really digging it! So I have been looking for a good vintage swimsuit but pretty cheap! I was looking for something similar to these:

    7c9873f8d3a1807dd343d80b6bc5cc8b9d6d28312cb3ded0ff711824d151fb0129518484e573f328d96e5996ac8037bf

So before I went on my spring break trip I found my vintage swimsuit! I got it from Gap before swimsuit season so it was a great price! I love the polka dots and the buttons! It is just so vintage!

  3. Memorize the way you want to live!

    April 11, 2013 by lesturman

So I had a friend that posted about memorizing bible verses and that we don’t just want to know verses we want them to change the way we live. Well I think I need to start with the knowing/memorizing part before I use them to change the way I live. So I have spent the last month just deciding on memory verses to memorize and begin to live my life according to that. So I am going to pick a verse that I am going to memorize and then apply it over a 2 week period. So I have 2 weeks to memorize it and then find a way to live it out in my daily life! So my first memory verse was:

    Romans 8:32

He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all- how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

I have spent the last few weeks figuring out how I can fully trust that the lord will provide! He freaking gave up his son for me, why would he not give me my desires! I have really spent some time surrendering my desires to the lord over the last few weeks. I have been practicing by telling people around me when they ask about my desires just saying, “I know he will provide!”

My current memory verse is something that is a direct reflection of what’s going on in my life right now:

    Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

As I am going to be spending the next few Saturday/Sunday mornings running the Heartland Series I have been reflecting on the race he has for me. That it is not about winning, it is now about getting there before others, its just about following him and bringing others along side of us as we follow him. So I am figuring out how I can do that!

So I challenge you to just start really getting to “know” his words, not just by memorizing them but figuring out how you can change your life to reflect those words!

  5. Spring Break “Spa” fun!

    April 9, 2013 by lesturman

So for the last few spring break’s we have joined my grandma out at the “spa!” She has wintered out in Niland, CA for a while now and it has become one of our favorite spots to visit because it is sunny, hot, and in the middle of no where! Some may think this is boring or not they way they would like to spend their spring break but for me it is so restful and refreshing, as it is such a change of pace! So here is just a few pictures from our fun “spa” adventures with grandma!

  7. Shout out to the mama’s out there!

    March 15, 2013 by lesturman

So last week and over the weekend Anna and I become mom’s of 3 children in a matter of seconds! My parents and their best friends went on a nice little getaway to Jamaica for 6 days and Anna and I become guardians of their 3 sweet children. These children have been our favorite little people forever and are children that are very comfortable with us. We enjoy the time we get to spend with them every time we do but it is hard work being a mama. It just make me want to praise every mama out their for their hard work, lack of sleep, time, effort, and constant positive attitudes cause man its hard!

We had a great time with these kids and really enjoy our time and all the fun things we get to with them but getting back to our normal rhythm is so nice.

So check out all the fun things we got to do during our 6 day adventure! We ate lots of food, played lots of games, watched lots of movies, and had sleepovers! (In the pictures you will notice a lot of our sweet little Nora, this is because she likes to take pictures with us, unlike the boys, we don’t love her more!)

  10. Poems from the hope in our future

    March 2, 2013 by lesturman

Awhile back I blogged about a sweet student I had that is so in love with Jesus and just wants everyone to know it. She writes amazing poems about the love he has for us and how her friends and peers don’t see that. They are poems full of hope, joy, and the love he has for us. So here is another poem from my sweet student. I love to just spend time reflecting on how amazing his love for us is and how this young girl understands that so well. I want to understand this love just as well as she does!

    Unrepayable Gifts

Father please forgive them, they know not what they do.

Not just the Roman soldiers, but also me and you.

We all had a part, in nailing him to that tree.

Claiming to be the son of God, he was killed for blasphemy.

He had all the power, to send angels soaring down.

To save him from his pain, and replace his rightful crown.

Yes he hung upon a cross, he chose to take our place.

We yelled out from the crowd, and spit upon his face.

Ever since he came. he was the lowest of the low.

His true magnificent power, nobody seemed to know.

Treated like dirt, by the people he came to save.

We all beat and bruised him, and send him to his grave.

WE hurt him on the inside too, but even through the mess.

He still gave us salvation, he promised nothing less.

A love we cannot fathom, or even try to understand.

Why would he do so much? Take a nail through his hand?

And what doe he get? what was all this for?

A world who has forgotten, and ignores the know upon its door.

He is the artist, all we are is the clay.

But when he asks for our lives, we simply turn away.

We suffer from the human condition, thinking we can do it on our own.

But when we hear he who has no sin, we can’t throw one single stone.

All he wants is our lives, which were a gift anyway.

That’s all we can give, all we  have to repay.

Please forgive them Father, they know not what they do.

We have something to offer back to him, the question is will you?
